We are 29 days away from the start of National Novel Writing Month, otherwise known as NaNoWriMo. If you have never attempted this, I throw the gauntlet at your feet.
The challenge is to write 50,000 words in 30 days. Sound easy? Sound impossible? It's both. ;-) What I can tell you is when you get to the 31st and you have accomplished what you set out to do. There is no feeling like it. As soon as the clock ticks into Nov 1st you will start waiting anxiously for next year.
I'll be there.
I have never done this, and have often wondered about this. You have a banner that says you were a winner. Does everyone who completes it become a winner? Is one of your current releases the product of this? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYes, everyone who completes 50K in the month of November is declared a winner. Believing is Seeing was a nanoproject, this November I plan on working on the third book in the series as my project.
ReplyDeleteLast year's project is still sitting on my harddrive. I think I'll play with it in early '10 and see if I still like it.
Hi Corinne :)
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of the November Novel Writing before & you've convinced me to do it.
Thank you for sharing.
Do you Twitter?
I noticed you Follow the authors I do but haven't Twittered since forever.
All the best,

I'm a bad twitter'er. I try to keep up, and in fact I just updated it. [thanks for the reminder.;-)]
ReplyDeleteNanowrimo is the most frustrating 31days of my year, I love it. It's all about the quantity not teh quality so all you do is throw words at the page and figure out what works later. I've found some of my favourite scenes buried in a mess of wordy goo. You'll be amazed what will appear on the page in front of you sometimes.
Be sure to add me to your buddy list (corinne davies). We can nag/encourage each other to the end.
I actually think I am going to do it this year. I know you tell me too every year... but I might listen this year. You inspire me. Even though I am currently miffed at you :P
