The face of a Character

I don't always have a good sense of what my character's look like when I start writing them. Usually after a while, and a few thousand words, their actions dictate what they look like. Or if they have been rumbling around in my brain for a bit and I suddenly "see" them.

In my Celtic story, the main Hero was inspired by a sweaty picture of Matt Sundin that someone had stuck on the wall of our lunch room, next to a Leaf's schedule. It was that picture that got the creative juices flowing and started me on that adventure.

I wanted a Hero who was older, but not a pretty boy. Someone who would be intimidating, kind of scary, with a quiet dominance but not someone my Heroine would fall all over right off the bat. Someone who has a sexiness that is revealed in a hint of amusement, or the way the light falls on him when he is concentrating on something else. Just like my Hero this face didn't hit me all at once. I've seen almost all his movies. Tonight I was suddenly struck, while watching The Transporter, with the realization I was watch Hadyn in action.

Jason Statham is sexy as hell in my book and is the perfect face for my Hero. So I leave you with some eye candy while I go and finish my current WIP. The sooner it's finished, the sooner I can get back to my fantasies...I mean story telling.

Time Flies....

I can't believe that that May is done already. That month just flew by as did the class I took with Angela Knight. I learned lots as I mentioned before, and am trying to keep it all in mind as I work.

Writing 1,000 words a day isn't as easy as one would think. Especially since I have a penchant for editing as I go. I will sit there and work on my WIP and perhaps add only a few hundred words....or none at all. At least the words that are there are (hopefully) better then when I turned my lap top on. The winners of SOM are to be announced by the end of July. So I want to have my manuscript finished by then, because regardless of how I place I am still going to start submitting it everywhere.

Got hit with a fun idea for a flash story that, if it turns out well I may use as a free read. I'll play with them a bit and see what happens.

My Celtic themed story is still strong in the back of my thoughts. It got pushed to a side burner when I started concentrating on BIS again. I have a habit of when I get tired with editing I take a break but then don't end up coming back to the computer, so my idea is I'll just open up the Celtic one and see if I get a second wind.
