"POP" and the lightbulb goes on

I can't believe it's almost the end of the month, and therefor the end of Angela Knight's workshop. I've learned so much from her, if anyone has a chance to take one of her courses, I highly recommend it. The voices in my head have been deafening, I have little scraps of paper in my pockets and lining my notebook. So much I want to get into this book and I am scared to death. I've got some great ideas but what if I can't do them justice?

It seems as though as loud as my character's voices get, so does my inner critic/saboteur. But I am pushing through.

My goal is to have the story finished by the end of July. I have set many goals for myself over the past couple years, not so much luck with most of them. My own fault of course. I have to keep focused.

I'm really starting to grasp the concept of GMC (Goals, Motivation & Conflict) and that in turn will help strengthen my manuscript. There is just so much swirling through my brain that I'm afriad of forgetting some of it. Now if I would get it all down on screen then I woulnd't have to worry so much.

Writing to music

I don't always write with music, but I've found that sometimes it's imperitave. Especially if I am doing a fight\battle scene. This is on my CD a couple times.

I have a longer version thankfully LOL. Everytime I hear it, I'm in the mood to mentally start swinging.

Oh and as a side note. Mac Danzig might have won the contract that season, but John Kolosci was my favourite. *BG*

Writing every day!

This is a habit that I keep hearing that I must get into, if I am really serious about becoming a professional writer.

I try.

I really do.

But damn, it's really hard. Does it count that the days I don't get any words done I am still thinking about it? Not a single day...not a moment goes by where some part of my thoughts is on at least one of my stories. I just don't get the time to write it down. I have a notebook that I scribble my thought on so I don't loose them. (learned that the hard way one too many times)

Between my full time job, being a mum to two, a wife and housekeeping...well there is only so many hours in the day. (To be honest writing comes before housekeeping) LOL Does that make me less committed?

I don't think so. It may take me a bit longer to reach my goal, but then I will have other experiences to draw on.

Not that I am going to use that as an excuse for the next 5 years. But if I don't get any writing done for a few days in a row because I am dealing with life, then I am not going to beat myself up over it anymore.

Fan-girl Squeeeeeeeeeee

I've got back to school.....Virtual school that is. I'm taking an online class with Angela Knight. **Insert gratuitous squeeing**

The first book I ever read by her was Jane's Warlord. Totally rocked. I will admit, slightly ashamed, I first grabbed the book because of the cover. Personally I think there is a shocking lack of hot biceps, triceps, other ...eps on covers. Rock hard abs are very nice, but look at that that arm......*sigh*

Her writing is fast paced, funny, and really, really, sit in a cold bath while you read HOT! Tough Alpha slightly damaged males, Strong stand-up-for-herself females. My favourtie combination.

The class I'm taking is called FROM MILD TO WILD: CREATING SEX SCENES THAT ARE MORE THAN THE SAME OLD BUMP AND GRIND

Perfect timing as I polish my own story. I really find some parts hard to write. One person mentioned they almost felt voyeuristic while writing and yea I can understand that. Also I start worrying about what the people who know me would say, if they read it.

I have flown far under the radar when it comes to writing. When I became a finalist, my loving and thoughtful husband ran around and told everyone. Suddenly, I have people asking if they can read some of my work, or they are looking forward to reading it. Yikes Scares the hell out of me, because I know they don't have a clue what I am currently working on. This particular story has two heros and a single heroine.

So far I am been brushing them off with promises of later. I'll wait till I'm done and then let them read a heavily edited version.....um, well maybe I'll write a second story just for them?
